Share your dream of home ownership with others, and ask that they contribute to your home ownership account instead of giving you a holiday gift.

While it may sound unusual, some friends and relatives will be happy to be spared the trouble of shopping and wrapping gifts for you, and excited about being able to participate in buying your first home.

Make sure your friends and family understand that anything—even a $5 contribution—will be appreciated. You don’t want to come across like you’re looking for a huge gift.
